John Carroll – Director / Personal Trainer / S & C Coach

“Having started training at 15, I have always had a keen interest in sport & exercise. I was offered a place on the Science & Football degree at LJMU in 2003, but life got in the way – (luckily Dr Fell had left by then) – and I started a part-time job at Asda as a picker and packer at Christmas but ended up staying for 13 years with various roles, finishing as a Transport Department Manager. But my calling lay elsewhere. Whilst at Asda I started attaining my fitness qualifications gaining my Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training as well as qualifications in Exercise Referral (Level 3) and Obesity and Diabetes Management (Level 4).

They say if your job is your passion, you’ll never work another day in your life … and that is how I feel after starting at onePT. I absolutely love engaging with and coaching clients to help them achieve their own individual goals. I also love learning, and since being at onePT I have attained the following additional qualifications; Level 4 in Strength & Conditioning, Hatton Academy Boxing, Precision Nutrition Level 1 and I am currently studying for the MNU Certificate in Nutrition. Neil and I firmly believe there is no one best diet …. it has to be what works best for the individual and ideally it is about making lifestyle changes that can become sustainable.

I just love taking part in various events and challenges and this year I have completed the following raising money for Sarcoma UK, Springhill Hospice and Children with Cancer …

The Route 66 Challenge (the distance of the infamous route across the USA) – 3669.8 km in 1 year, The Manchester Marathon, Total Warrior ultra, The Manchester to Liverpool Ultra, The Great North Run, The London Marathon and a 100 km treadmill Ultra!!”
